once upon
a future

The world is filled with a lot of fear, pessimism and anger around what the future has in store. It’s no surprise thatpolitical decisions about whats to become of our society are met with disillustioned from the global youth.

So, when faced with the opportunity of a once in a generation moment to reset the globe’s priorities, our campaign engineered a counter response to those darker feelings, one of youthful and inter-generational optimism to drive  changes to the conversation around the future by simply asking:

"What if we get it right?”

The Summit of the Future brought leaders from every corner of the world to New York City in the hopes of signing a Pact that will lay the groundwork for the next 100 years. While an admirable goal, the youth (aka those inheriting the decisions made in the UN summit) are rarely part of the conversation and that’s the problem.

90% of gen-z and gen-alpha remain hopeful that there’s still opportunity to turn the tide for a better future, despite the significant challenges. Their involvement and influence in the decisions that will shape their reality is paramount.

Since they don’t consume their news via traditional formats, we took the vital yet dense statements and transformed them into an authentic presention that disects the complex issues through humour, wit and irony - tapping into the way young people get informed through TikTok feeds, late night shows and influencer hot takes.

We created a live alternative broadcast of the UN Summit of the Future at the foodcart across the street featuring comedian hosts and an eclectic cast of internet personalities.

We harnessed youthful optimism to drive a global awareness to watch the alternative broadcast of the summit, get informed about key issues and put pressure on world leaders to make decisions to benefit for the young people of their countries, not political agendas.

The broadcast, directed by 1stave’s Tim Bierbaum, featured comedians and creators from across the world including: Felipe Neto; Lea’h Sampson; Heidi Becker; Alise Morales; Dan Rosen; Hallie Haas; Liah Yoo; and Pooja Tripathi.
